1. Red flag must be raised to indicate shooting is in progress.
2. Visit record book must be signed before shooting commences.
3. Guns must only be loaded on the firing lines. Guns must be checked
before leaving the firing lines. And unloaded. Air rifles with magazines,
the magazine must be removed when leaving the firing line. If a
rifle has a magazine in it the gun is deemed loaded.
4. Co2 pistols must not be loaded with magazines until they are
on the firing line, and magazines removed before leaving the firing
line, Brocock Air Cartridge Pistols must only be loaded at the firing
line. PISTOL COMPETITIONS ONLY. PISTOLS MUST BE HOLSTERED BEFORE
LEAVING THE FIRING LINE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A HOLSTER THE MAGAZINE
MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PISTOL, OR AIR CARTRIDGES REMOVED FROM
THE PISTOL BEFORE LEAVING FIRING LINE, PISTOLS MUST NOT BE PUT IN
TROUSER WAISTBANDS, (OR SKIRTS). VISITORS TO THE WALLED GARDEN WATCH
US THROUGH THE HEDGE WE MUST BE SEEN TO BE SAFE.
5. All guns must be securely cased and unloaded when arriving or
leaving the range,

recording name and address in visitors book and having had range

or another full member over 21 years of age. This person will accept
full responsibility for the conduct and safety of the junior.
10. Targets must never be placed above the shooters eyeline up to
a max of 1m. Whenever practical targets will be placed on the ground.
11. Cross firing is not allowed. Fun targets are allowed but care
must be taken to ensure there is a safe backdrop. Close range sighting
shots are allowed but the steel backs provided for this purpose
should be used.
12. No targets are to be left out at the end of a competition or
practice session and guns must not be left in the store shed.
13. Shooting must cease if the gardeners wish to cut our grass or
trim the partition hedge.
14. Consideration must be given to any person in the outer area
when entering the premises. Members entering at times other than
official club meeting day should lock the main gate behind them
and ensure they are carrying their membership cards and photo id

1. There will be two categories.
"Recoiling" for spring/recoiling pistols with open/iron
sights ONLY and
"Open" for any pistol with any sights except telescopic.
2. No range finding equipment permitted.
3. All shots to be taken with foot touching peg.
4. All shots to be taken with both arms extended (Elbows must not
be rested against body).

9. As per rifle HFT, no adjusting gun or sights after start of competition.
10. The course and rules have been designed to be fair for all types
of pistol and sights allowed. Please honour these rules with grace.
NOTE: ALL TARGETS HAVE BEEN TESTED WITH A LOW POWERED HW40PCA PISTOL
WITH LIGHT WEIGHT PELLETS FROM A POSITION NEAR TO THE PEG AND ALL
TARGETS HAVE BEEN DROPPED. IN EVENT OF A DISPUTE PLEASE CALL A RANGE
THE RANGE OFFICER'S DECISION IS FINAL.
HFT rigs are acceptable
Rules are as HFT except:-
1. There is no upper or lower limit to the ranges to the target
other than for safety reasons.
2. There are no limits on kill sizes or distances from firing line
relating to kill sizes.
3. A "gate" will be used rather than a peg. You may shoot
from anywhere in the gate but must not use the road pins for support.
4. Remember. No sitting as in HFT and no adjusting scopes etc.

-2 (minus 2) for a plate or complete miss.
Or you can elect not to take the shot in "respect for your
quarry" and enter a zero. You must decline and have your card
marked before you fire off your shot.
Remember, the idea of this shoot is to see how honest a hunter you
are. If you feel a target is too difficult for you, you have the
opportunity not to take the shot. However, if you do take it and
miss/hit the plate, you score –2. It is therefore quite possible
for the competition to be won with a score of 0!
All members and visitors must sign in at the stats tent before shooting.
By signing in you agree to meet the club conditions of attendance

These Rules are as generally as CSFTA Hunter Rules but allow for specific
changes for BARPC open shoots.
COURSE DESIGN & GENERAL RULES.
1. A Chief Marshal will be appointed by the club. The Chief Marshal
takes the responsibility for running the shoot and final adjudication
of the rules.
2. The course will consist of a number of lanes with one target per
lane. Each lane will have two (2) shooting positions marked by a wooden
peg driven into the ground. The Pegs must be placed within 1 metre
of the firing line and only the rifle and arms may cross the firing
3. Competitors will take one shot from each peg, with a part of their
body touching the peg. The firing line will be marked by a rope or
marker tape. There shall be no "impossible" shots.
4. The only shooting positions not allowed are any sitting positions.
Any other position is permitted as long as it does not generate a
danger to any shooter or spectator or any other member of the public.
5. Shooters may not alter the magnification or parallax position on
their scopes, the positioning of stock and or butt hook or any other
part of the rifle after the first shot.
6. No range finding other than bracketing or by eye. (No lasers, range
7. Use of bipods and or any other external shooting aids (eg shooting
stick) are not permitted. Bean bags allowed for kneeling shots to
support the knee only. No sitting on the foot is allowed.
8. The use of spirit levels, wind indicators and slings is permitted.
9. Once the shoot has commenced there will be no re-siting of targets.
10. All targets to be freshly painted at the start of each shoot.
Contrasting colours for face-plate and kills. Targets will generally
be placed between 7 - 45 yards however we reserve the option to “extend”
11. Shoot organisers may choose to inform competitors of the distances
of the shortest and longest targets in the course, but not their location.
12. Guns used in the competition may be randomly chronographed (At
BARPC discretion). Shooters will be tested on the chronograph with
the pellets they are using in the competition. Any shooter whose
gun fails the chronograph test will be disqualified.
13. The partner system of marshalling will be used.
14. Each lane to be timed with a time allowance of 3mins from placing
scope to eye. Discretion to be used.
15. Scoring is 2 points for a kill, 1 point for metal, zero points
for a miss.
16. This shoot will use both non-shooting marshals and roving shooting
marshals identified by the use of fluorescent jackets. In all issues,
the Chief Marshals decision is final.
Each shooter is responsible for their own and their fellow competitors
safety. Please ensure you follow these safety rules, follow any instructions
given by a Marshall and remember that shooting a safe sport when due
respect is given to the gun and the environment in which it is used.
